I had the privilege of working with you twice! On the first house, a foreclosure, information learned during the inspection made me reconsider my decision to buy. Along with a lot of cosmetic improvements that I was expecting … and all new appliances needed … you found that the furnace and water heater were near the end of their useful lives (note: several exhaust leaks). But most of all, you discovered the leak from the toilet into the kitchen cabinets. Needless to say there were just too many problems that I wasn’t willing to pay for. It was a very thorough home inspection.
So when I found a second property, I called Mike first. He was flexible with scheduling and fit me in right away. I just wanted to say, I appreciate you coming out and all of your notes. I met with {builder} this morning, gave them what you gave me, all the items are going to be addressed. The only problem is that they don’t require drip edging on these homes, as where the shingles overhang. Also, the inspector {builder} was quite amazed; he’d never seen a sump pump cavity filled with gravel before. So that was a serious issue that you caught.They’re going to hit every item on that list; most appreciative that you came out, I’m more impressed with the fact that they are going to address all those issues and that there are no questions, no issues or concerns.

Hi Mike,
I just wanted to let you know what happened with our moldy siding issue. We sent your report to the builder and they in turn hired a mold expert. The mold expert took some swabs back to a lab to see if it would grow mold and “fortunately” the mold grew. The builder then consulted with the siding company and they offered to replace the siding that was molded. That resolution was not acceptable to us because of all the hidden areas where the siding overlaps. We got our real estate agent involved and the builder finally agreed to replace all of the siding around the entire house. They have already done all the work and we are very pleased with the new siding they put up.
P.S. A future neighbor (who is building a house across the street) saw the siding being taken down and replaced asked us what was going on. Upon telling them the story, they asked for your information and may give you a call. I hope you don’t mind us recommending you. Thank you again for your services.
